During a Disney on Ice performance in Minneapolis, an ice skater portraying Belle from “Beauty and the Beast” suffered a critical injury after falling mid-performance.
The incident occurred during a pair skating routine with an actor portraying the Beast, approximately 40 minutes into the 11 a.m. show.
Eyewitnesses, including one local mom identified as Beka, noted that Belle appeared shaky before the fall during a lift with the Beast.
Following the fall, the remaining staff and performers bravely continued the show, striving to maintain the magic for the audience, particularly the children in attendance.
Despite the challenging circumstances, their dedication to the performance was unwavering.
The injured skater was swiftly taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she was reported to be in critical but stable condition as of Sunday morning. Details regarding the extent of her injuries remain undisclosed.
The distressing incident was captured on video, showing the actor portraying Belle seizing on the ice as medics rushed to her aid.
The footage, shared on social media, also depicted the surrounding performers continuing with the routine until the seriousness of the situation became apparent, at which point the music stopped and the ice was cleared.
